The Master’s degree in Physiotherapy is a two-year full time program consisting of classroom teaching, self-academic activities and clinical postings, with self-directed evidence based practice. In the first year, the theoretical basis of physiotherapy is refreshed along with research methodology, biostatistics & teaching technology. The students are rotated in all areas of clinical expertise including their specialty during this period. They are required to choose their study for dissertation and submit a synopsis. During the second year the students will be posted in their area of specialty. They are required to complete and submit their dissertation. The learning program includes seminars, journal reviews, case presentations, case discussions and classroom teaching. Some of the clinical postings may be provided at other reputed centers in the country in order to offer a wider spectrum of experience. The students are encouraged to attend conferences, workshops to enhance their knowledge during the course of study. University examinations are held at the end of first year and at the end of second year.

1 Program overview:

The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a two-year full-time postgraduate program designed to develop advanced clinical, research, and academic skills in physiotherapy. At Sancheti College of Physiotherapy, the program integrates classroom teaching, clinical postings, evidence-based practice, and research training.

In the first year, students strengthen core physiotherapy concepts while studying research methodology, biostatistics, and teaching technology, and begin their dissertation work. The second year focuses on advanced clinical training in the chosen specialty along with completion of the research dissertation.

The program includes seminars, journal reviews, case presentations, and workshops, preparing graduates for specialized physiotherapy practice, research, and academic careers.

BPTh Degree from a recognized institution of Maharashtra & PGPCET Appeared.

Admissions are conducted based on merit and entrance examinations as per MUHS guidelines.

Students are assessed through written examinations, practical and clinical evaluations, seminars, journal reviews, case presentations, and teaching assignments. Continuous internal assessment during specialty clinical postings and academic activities ensures development of clinical reasoning, evidence-based physiotherapy practice, and research competence. The final evaluation also includes submission and defense of a research dissertation, preparing graduates for specialized physiotherapy practice, research, and academic careers.
